The 2022 trash and recycling calendar for the Streets Division collections is now available. This calendar provides the trash and recycling collection dates of 2022 for January through the end of July. The calendar for your home is available on the Streets Division’s website.
When will the new trash and recycling districts start?
The Streets Division will begin using the new districts on August 1, 2022. The new districts will change the collection date of trash and recycling for some residents. In the summer of 2022, a new collection calendar will be available for the final four months of the year and for the entirety of 2023.
When was the planning application for the recycling centre approved?
A pre planning consultation took place in February and our partner FCC Environment submitted a planning application in the spring of this year. Planning permission was approved in November 2021 along with the Environmental Permit which will allow the site to operate as a recycling centre as well as a waste transfer station.

Suffolk County Council and its partner FCC Environment, who manage and run all 11 of Suffolk’s Recycling Centres, are proposing to relocate the Chalkstone Way Recycling Centre to a new location, currently occupied by FCC’s Waste Transfer Station (WTS) at Homefield Road.
What is the purpose of the new split level recycling center?
The project will create a new modern split-level Recycling Centre designed to make access for residents easier as well as to maximize the recycling of household waste. The new Recycling Centre would be built within part of the existing transfer station site.
