When will the YMCA pools be open in 2022?

Do I need to make reservations for the Summerville Family YMCA pool?

Please remember that the pool will be closed September 3-12th, as we renovate our pool, to better serve you! Members can make reservations up to 3 days in advance. Is the YMCA open on Labor Day?

When does the pool close at GCY?

The pool will always close 15 minutes before the building to ensure patrons have enough time to use the facility before closing. GCY Swim Team will practice Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 4pm-7pm and Saturday mornings 8am-9:30am. They will have 2-4 lanes depending on programming and lanes available for lap swimmers.

What time is the therapy pool?

Toning and Flexibility – Monday and Wednesday 10am to 1050am – Therapy Pool; Low intensity shallow water exercise with use of noodles and barbells. Focus is on core strength, range of motion and an overall toning of the body.

What time is water yoga?

Water Yoga- Tuesdays 6pm -650pm Therapy Pool: Aqua yoga is a restorative form of yoga that adapts the postures and principles of yoga, including breathing and mindfulness, to the warm water therapy pool. Aqua yoga helps you improve your physical strength, flexibility, posture, and body awareness, and reduce stress. Led by Aimee, AEA certified Aquatic Fitness Professional with recent training in water yoga through White Crow Yoga

Deep and Shallow Water Aerobics 9am to 950am Tues and Thurs – Advanced; Focus is on cardiovascular fitness, overall strengthening, toning and range of motion. Emphasis on core strength, range of motion and toning of the body by performing high intensity exercises in both deep & shallow water, utilizing noodles and barbells. Must be able to swim

What time is Power Workout?

Power Workout – 6pm to 650pm Monday and Wednesday – Advanced; One hour of intense deep & shallow water exercise, helping make you more flexible and fit. Emphasis on core strength, range of motion and toning of the body by performing high intensity exercises in both deep & shallow water. Must be able to swim

Do you need reservations for pool time?

Reservations are no longer needed for Pool time!

Lap Lanes

Unless otherwise listed, 2 lap lanes are available throughout the day.

Speed

Please try to choose a lane with swimmers that most nearly match your speed.

Lap Swimming Tips

Please enter the pool from the shallow end. To avoid accidents, when entering an occupied lane, please get the first swimmer's acknowledgement that you are there. Please get kickboards, pull buoys, etc. before entering the pool.

Directions

If there are 1 or 2 swimmers in a lane, they may elect to split the lane in half. The entrance of a third person immediately changes the lane to "circle" swimming format.
