What is the Whiskey Island Trail?

Whiskey Island Trail completes a missing link between Edgewater Park to Wendy Park on Whiskey Island with 1.2 miles of all purpose trail. The trail provides a safe, off-road connection with great views of the active Port of Cleveland’s Bulk Terminal as well as several interpretive spaces that share the rich history of Cleveland’s lakefront.

In his schooldays, he used to lead tours of the Jameson Distillery in Dublin. He has worked with Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland and for the most part he has worked with some of the country’s leading tour operators.

How many distilleries will be open in 2021?

In 2021, there are over 60 distilleries and brand homes on the island of Ireland. Most are open, the rest are work-in-progress. Most of these ‘whiskey stops’ are fully operational distilleries and they are dotted all over the island of Ireland, often taking you off the beaten tourism path.

Who is John Senior?

John Senior worked for Pernod Ricard for 30 years, overseeing the successful development of both Jameson visitor centres in Dublin and Cork, both of which feature on our tours. He also oversaw the successful growth of Bushmills Distillery in Northern Ireland (a stop on our Northern Ireland tour). In recent years, John has been helping some of these new distilleries to get their visitor centres up and running and get them successfully on the tourism map.

Whiskey Island has access to all of these whiskey stops. We operate as a full service whiskey tour company. We create and operate bespoke whiskey trails for our guests. We carefully blend (pun intended!) a selection of memorable whiskey experiences on our trails with the best of Ireland along the way.
