Where do the UConn Huskies play football?
The 2022 UConn Huskies football team will represent the University of Connecticut (UConn) in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Huskies will play their home games at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut, and compete as an as an FBS independent.
Can UConn beat NC State football in 2021?
According to ESPN’s football power index, UConn has a measly 2% chance to beat NC State, which finished the 2021 season at 9-3. The Wolfpack have one of the best linebacker groups in the country led by Drake Thomas, and was ranked 22nd in the FBS for rushing defense – which could take away much of UConn’s game plan.
Who are UConn’s biggest football rival teams?
This has been UConn’s true football rival over the last few years, and it’s easy to see why. UMass is an independent, has been since 2016, and has won two games in the last three seasons. One of those wins was a 27-13 triumph over a hapless Randy Edsall-led Husky squad in 2021. The Minutemen also grabbed a victory over UConn in 2018.

In addition to its basketball success, UConn is known for its championship soccer teams. The men's team has won two NCAA national championships, in 1981 and 2000, and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America named the undefeated 1948 team the national champion.
Why did UConn join the ACC?
In football, it meant recruiting against other schools in your region -- Syracuse and Boston College -- that were in the conference that left you out. The situation became so untenable that UConn eventually decided to make its football program independent and allow the rest of its sports to rejoin the Big East in 2020.

Previous Season
On September 5, following the team's 38–28 loss to FCS -school Holy Cross, head coach Randy Edsall announced he would be retiring at the end of the season. The following day, the school announced that Edsall had resigned effective immediately and defensive coordinator Lou Spanos was named the interim head coach.
