How long is the tour of the mine?
The tour is a 90 minute experience, mostly underground in the mine. It's led by experienced coal miners, who are full of information and passion for the history of this mine. Out of the ordinary and so much fun. Be sure to bring a jacket. I wore a heavy hoodie and I was COLD!
Is the coal mine tour family friendly?
Anyone who has ever had a loved one in the coal mines should do this. If you're just curious, this tour would still be great. It's family friendly. Our kids, 11, 10, and 9, really enjoyed the tour. There's a lot of history here. The staff was great.
