9:30To enter Stone Mountain it will cost you $10 per car. Go a couple of hours early to get a parking spot close to the lawn and to get a prime spot on the lawn (not a bad seat in the house). The show starts at 9:30 and by 8:30, it is packed. We always go for 7.

No, but you need to get there early to secure a good spot and not be "cramped" on all sides. I suggest that you pack a picnick, get there around 6 or 7p, enjoy a liesurely meal, then go tour the village, leaving your pallets/chairs behind, but make sure you make note of some visual landmark so you can find your space when you come back and find 100k people on the lawn.

It's just that crazy. Oh, how I loved this event when I was a child.
