On April 21, 1976, the Oregon State Fish and Wildlife Commission deeded 21.87 acres in the center of their 260 acre warm water fish pond area to Marion County for a park. The St. Louis Ponds were cooperatively developed by Marion County, Oregon State Highway Department, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
