The 2022 Section V boys lacrosse season was more than just a season. It was a full season for the first time since 2019. The 2020 season was robbed completely by the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2021 season was played, but abbreviated.

Fairport defeated Pittsford in overtime 6-5 tonight to secure their 10th Sectional Title and second consecutive title (2019 win over Hilton 9-4). This is the fourth straight tournament that have seen the Red Raiders in the finals. With tonight's win, the Red Raiders moved into third for the most titles by any program in Section Five. The game winning goal was scored off a face-off fast-break. Joey Giggie won the draw and raced up field, he offloaded the ball to Trey Terzo who fed inside to the crease and found Jackson Monte open for the goal.
