Where does Poly Prep baseball practice and compete?

Is poly Summer’s performing arts camp moving to Park Slope?

We are so excited to share the news! Poly Summer’s Performing Arts Camp (PAC), open to campers entering Grades 4-9, is moving to Poly Prep’s Park Slope campus for summer 2022.

What is Poly Prep PAC?

Entering its 31st year, PAC nourishes the creative spirits of its campers through a multi-week program that includes music, drama, dance, and play, while emphasizing friendship, skill-building and fun. Poly Prep’s Dyker Heights campus will be closed to campers for summer 2022 while the school tackles a series of large-scale infrastructure updates.

By promoting character, self-esteem, and mental and physical health in all students, Poly Prep Athletics enables young people to learn about their own physical fitness, set personal goals, and develop a sense of confidence that will extend into the classroom and guide them throughout their lives.

How many acres are there in Poly?

Poly’s dedication to long-term athlete development is spectacularly reflected by our state-of-the-art facilities that houses almost all of our sports on our 25-acre campus.

What is multisport play in 2nd grade?

While keeping joy front and center, multisport play introduces new games and the ethos of sportsmanship to the curricula. Kids explore the various challenges presented by sports and improve their agility, balance, coordination, and speed.

What is the power of play in lower school?

We believe in the power of play. In Lower School, daily active play is an integral part of the students’ physical education. During free play, teachers supervise as children use their imagination to create inclusive games. While firmly rooted in fun, our P.E. classes help our youngest students learn fundamental movement skills though challenging activities and non-competitive games. As time progresses, students gain competency and confidence in their physical abilities, and are able to synthesize these skills.

What grades do middle schoolers take P.E.?

All Middle School students take P.E. In Grades 5 and 6, they cycle through the most popular sports, which are taught by the varsity team coaches.

How many sports are there in upper school?

In Upper School, athletics can be accessed through a variety of routes such that each student has an option that suits them. There are eighteen sports offered at the JV and varsity level, as well as specialized P.E. courses, which allow students to add recreation to their day.

Where is Channing Austin playing baseball?

All-American athlete Channing Austin, who played on Team NY at the National High School Baseball Championship in Houston in 2019, committed to play for the University of Virginia Cavaliers.
