When can we get PeBT again?
The final Summer 2021 P-EBT benefit issuances will be made by September 30, 2021. Final corrections to School 20/21 and Under 6 20/21 P-EBT will also be made by September 30, 2021. If Iowa reinstates any P-EBT programs, information will be provided at that time on this page.

Are we getting more PeBT money?
Under the “U.S. Rescue Plan,” aid has been extended through the summer months. The extension of the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) program under the Biden Administration’s “American Rescue Plan” to provide an incentive of up to $375 for underage students during the summer months could become permanent. The federal Department of Agriculture (USDA) has not yet indicated a specific date when the additional funds will begin to arrive this summer.
When is the next round of PeBT?
The first benefits this year were provided on March 5, 2022 based on the number of days eligible children had during the months of August-October 2021. A second round of benefits was provided on April 9 for P-EBT eligible days in November-December 2021. Benefits were also issued for any new information for days in August, September, and October.
When and how will I get my summer P-EBT funds?
Child care-aged children (born after Aug. 1, 2014) who received SNAP food benefits at any time between June 2021–August 2021 will automatically receive summer P-EBT benefits on their Lone Star Card Oct. 11–15.
How do I become eligible for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) for summer P-EBT?
Aug. 28, 2021, is the deadline for newly eligible families to complete and return the household application for free and reduced-price meals ( NSLP form) to their school to be eligible for summer P-EBT. The deadline is Aug. 28 because it is the end of the summer P-EBT period. Forms received by schools after that date will not apply to summer P-EBT.

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service announced Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is offered to states for the current school year.

When the Texas plan is approved, it is expected that the school must meet the following criteria to receive P-EBT for this school year:

Below are examples of circumstances that should be counted as days a child lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to COVID-19.
Tracking COVID-19 Absences
P-EBT benefits will be issued based on the number of school days a student is absent due to COVID-19 or the number of school days they participate in a virtual learning option provided by their school in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is recommended that schools track the following information in their attendance records:
NSLP Household Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Receiving free meals at school does not automatically make a student eligible for P-EBT. While NSLP-participating schools have the option to serve free meals to all students this school year through the SSO, it is important to note that P-EBT benefits require individual income eligibility unless a child attends a CEP or P2 school.
