When did the IHSAA playoffs start?
The first IHSAA playoffs took place in 1972, with the current system now featuring six 11-player classifications and one 8-player classification.
Can I use Spalding J5V football in 2021?
Due to manufacturing and supply issues, the IHSAA will not require the Spalding J5V football to be used during the 2021 postseason. Member schools may order and use their preferred football for games throughout the 2021 regular season and postseason. Selected footballs must meet NFHS specifications per NFHS Football Rule 1-3-1. More information on postseason football procedures, including ball use at the UNI-Dome for semifinals and finals, will be shared in the sport manuals when they become available.
