The 2022-2023 season runs Friday, December 9 through Saturday, May 6, Kentucky Derby Day. Located in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, Oaklawn is one of the premiere Thoroughbred racetracks in the country since 1904, best known as home of the Arkansas Derby.

How much is it to get into Oaklawn?
Admission is free for the gaming room all year round. On the track side, admission is $2 during live racing season (Jan-Apr). Admission is free to the track side for simalcasting during the rest of the year.
How long do races last at Oaklawn?
Easy rule of thumb answer is 30 minutes per race. So 9 races =4.5 hours or 5:30. Oaklawn has no lights so they have to end before dark. A 10 race day usually starts at 12:30.
How do you bet on horse racing?
If you are making a wager in person, you will have to verbalize your bet to the teller, including the track you are betting on, the race number the horse is entered in, the amount you are wagering, the type of bet you are placing and the saddlecloth number of the horse you want to bet on.

Can kids go to Oaklawn horse races?
Oaklawn Race Track is a very kid friendly place. Lots of kids are learning math skills here - what are odds, how to count money and the probability of winning! The Casino allows no one under 21 to pass through their doors...so those math skills that the kids learned at the Race Track cannot be applied in the Casino.
What should I wear to Oaklawn?
Does Oaklawn Casino Resort have a dress code? There isn't a set dress code for any races. Feel free to wear relaxing, casual clothes if you want. However, you are more than welcome to dress your derby best!
Are drinks free at Oaklawn casino?
The casino is a nice place and it is clean. Staff are friendly. No free drinks but they have a happy hour that seems to be all day/night with drinks at $2. Free soft drinks and coffee.
What do you wear to Oaklawn horse races?
Gentlemen must wear traditional sports coats or suits which are optional on Sunday. Ladies must wear dresses or slacks with no visible undergarments or bare midriffs showing. Leisure garments, athletic wear, shorts and the like will not be permitted.
