The Glimmerglass Festival 2022 season will run July 8 through August 21 in the Alice Busch Opera Theater in Cooperstown, New York, and will be preceded by the releases of the Festival’s first two commissioned works on film: “The Knock,” by Aleksandra Vrebalov and Deborah Brevoort and “On Trac I<,” a dance piece, composed by Nicolas Lell Benavides and choreographed and performed by Amanda Castro.

Talking Opera
Prior to the start of each season’s Glimmerglass Festival, the Guild organizes and presents a series of talks relating to the upcoming productions. These talks, free and open to the public, always offer a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the works being staged as well as a stimulating venue for discussing the multi-faceted world of opera.
Eat & Greet
As the season’s opening approaches, the Guild hosts a potluck dinner for Glimmerglass staff, crews and artists that brings together the entire Glimmerglass Festival community. This event is always a favorite each year.
Opening Night Party
Although we are not able to hold the Opening Night Party this year, in the future we will be holding an event for all cast, crew and orchestra members at the beginning of the season.
Gala Dinner & Silent Auction
One of the favorite events each season is the Gala Dinner and Silent Auction held at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown. Attendees are served a gourmet meal prepared by the hotel’s chefs, and are treated to a musical interlude by members of the Young Artists Program.
Changeover Dinners
On days when there are two productions on stage, both a matinee and an evening performance, Guild volunteers prepare and serve dinners to the technical crews involved in changing over the sets, and to members of the Young Artists Program.

The Glimmerglass Festival
The Glimmerglass Festival will take place in Cooperstown from July 15 to August 17. This summer-long celebration of the arts features world-class operas, musical theater, and more.
Glimmerglass On the Grass
Typically, the Glimmerglass Festival is held in the Alice Busch Opera Theater, with its elegant decor and intimate atmosphere that contains all of the theater’s 914 seats less than 70 feet from the stage. However, this year the festival is trying something new to make the event as safe as possible.
