Final examinations should ordinarily cover two hours but should not exceed three hours.
How many final exams can you have at the same time?
A student who has three final examinations scheduled by the Office of the University Registrar within a twenty-four hour period or two scheduled at the same time may request his or her dean (or designee) for permission to have one of the scheduled examinations rescheduled.
Can you have an examination at a different time than the general schedule?
No examinations ( except for laboratory sections) may be held at a time other than that specified in the general schedule except after first petitioning the dean and with the advance approval of the provost.

No examination time can be changed after it has been announced. No special preparation quizzes may be given during the last five days of classes ( last two days of classes for summer school) before the beginning of the final exam period.

If a student has a time conflict between a final for a synchronous/in-person course and an asynchronous course, the instructor of the asynchronous course must offer the student an alternate time to take the final exam.
Can a student not attend the Common Final?
A student who is unable to attend the common final due to a conflict with another course’s final shall be permitted to arrange an alternate assessment time with the instructor. This arrangement should be done as early in the term as possible.

Classes with start times 5:00 p.m. and later are considered evening classes. Example: TR 5:00pm-6:20 would have their final exam on TUESDAY at 5 pm. Single-day meetings with start times before 2 pm should use the standard combinations as a guide (MWF and TR). Example: a F 1 :30 pm course should reference the MWF 1:00 pm exam time (in the table).
