Delta dental insurance is a major dental insurance provider. A typical plan with them costs $200-$500 a year and includes the following: two yearly exams, x-rays once a year to every three years, annual fluoride treatment for kids under twelve and a 20% out of pocket cost for spacers, fillings and basic extractions.

What is the Delta dental PPO plan?

Delta Dental PPO Individual Premium Plan is a plan that covers a percentage of your costs for covered dental services. Once you enroll, you’ll get coverage for diagnostic and preventive care, including exams, cleanings and x-rays. Plus the premium plan also includes specialty coverage for implants, crowns and root canals.

How are participating dentists paid in the Delta Dental Premier program? What is the fee policy?

The fee policy means that Delta Dental's payment to participating dentists is based on the lesser of your submitted fee or the maximum fee that Delta Dental approves for a given procedure in a given region of the state for all Delta Dental-covered patients.

What is Delta Dental Premier?

Delta Dental Premier is a standard fee-for-service dental benefits program. Delta Dental reimburses participating dentists directly based on their submitted fees and our maximum approved fee. Members are responsible for their copayment and deductible (if any) and charges for any non-covered services.

How do I know if the fees determined by Delta Dental will be acceptable for my practice?

Delta Dental can provide you with a fee analysis before you sign an agreement. The analysis will compare your 25 highest Delta Dental utilized dental procedures and the fees submitted by your office to Delta Dental's maximum approved fees.

How do I know if a patient is eligible for Delta Dental Premier benefits?

You can verify eligibility and access benefits and claims information online through the Dental Office Toolkit ®, or you can call 800-524-0149 and use DASI, our automated voice response system. You may also request a summary of dental benefits by selecting the FaxBack option. For patients that have dental coverage through a national group, visit the Delta Dental portal at www.deltadental.com.

How do Delta Dental-covered patients and members know that I am a Delta Dental Premier participating dentist?

What is the Delta Dental Premier network? The network is made up of more than 156,200 dentists practicing in nearly 349,200 locations throughout the United States and its territories—four out of five dentists participate in one or more Delta Dental programs. How long does Delta Dental have to give notice?

The agreement remains in effect until you decide to terminate it. We require participating dentists to provide a 60-day written notice before resigning from a Delta Dental program.

How many dental cleanings can you get with Delta Dental?

Delta Dental’s Oral Health Enhancement Option enables you to receive up to four dental cleanings and/or periodontal maintenance procedures in any combination per benefit period if you have been treated for periodontal (gum) disease in the past. For the additional dental cleanings and/or periodontal maintenance procedures to be covered, you must have had periodontal surgery or periodontal scaling and planing in the past. Details on how to qualify can be found in your benefit booklet.

What changes will be made to the 2022 fluoride plan?

The changes to your plan for 2022 include an additional fluoride treatment and the Oral Health Enhancement benefit.

What is Delta Dental PPO?

This preferred provider organization (PPO) plan is Delta Dental's fastest growing dental plan and now covers over 1.8 million people. This plan is a point-of-service plan, patients can choose any dentist at the time of treatment; however, they have an incentive to choose dentists who are a part of the PPO network by receiving higher benefit levels and lower out-of-pocket costs. If you elect to participate in this plan, you'll have a two-tiered fee schedule: Delta Dental Premier and a slightly reduced fee schedule for Delta Dental PPO. PPO fees are posted to the National Provider File and accepted nationally by other Delta Plans.

What is Delta Dental managed care?

This is Delta Dental's managed care dental plan. DeltaCare subscribers select primary care dentists from the DeltaCare network and seek treatment from their selected dentists. Dentists who participate in the managed care network are paid a fixed monthly fee per assigned patient to provide a defined scope of treatment. Primary care dentists coordinate all of the patients' dental care needs, including referrals to specialists. Patients make co-payments for services covered by this plan.

Does Delta Dental offer PPO?

Note: Delta Dental offers its Delta Dental Premier and Delta Dental PPO plans both locally and nationwide through our affiliation with the Delta Dental Plans Association. All Delta Dental member dentists automatically participate in the nationwide Delta Dental Premier plan as a provision of the Delta Dental Member Dentist Agreement. Delta Dental member dentists who participate in the Delta Dental PPO plans also automatically participate in the nationwide PPO plans.
