When is Speed Week at Daytona?
Daytona Speedweek. The 64th running of the Daytona 500 will take place on Sunday, February 20 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. To earn a spot in this year’s Daytona 500, drivers must first compete in the Bluegreen Vacations Duel – twin 150-mile qualifying races that set the 40-car field for the Daytona 500.

When does NASCAR begin?
The season unofficially begins with the exhibition Busch Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Feb. 6. It begins in earnest two weeks later with the Daytona 500. There's just one off weekend from the Daytona 500 through the title race at Phoenix on Nov. 6, a stretch of 37 races in 38 weeks counting the All-Star Race on May 22.
