The Blue Hen Organics Recycling Center is a centrally located yard waste reccling facility in Sussex County, Delaware. The facility is permitted to process clean, biodegradable materials such as yard waste ( grass clippings, leaves, brush) and land clearing debris.

When is the leaf bag distribution in the fall?

In the fall (mid-October through December), the Division is responsible for maintaining supplies and distributing biodegradable leaf bags to homeowners. The Township policy is that homeowners may acquire two bundles of twenty leaf bags.

What is the division of recycling and solid waste?

The Division of Recycling and Solid Waste is responsible for overseeing the various sanitation operations that Piscataway administers. This includes management of the Recycling/Trash Center (Mini-Dump), located adjacent to the public works building. The Division also performs trash cleanup of illegally dumped refuse within Township properties and right-of-ways.

Can you use coupon credits in 2021?

Coupon credits purchased in 2021 may only be used in 2021; credits do not roll over to subsequent years. A minimum of two $1.00 purchases must be made with each transaction. Only checks or credit/debit cards are accepted for any purchases made through the DPW office.

Recent operational changes to waste & recycling services

The Board of Commissioners recently approved several changes related to the city's refuse, recycling, and yard waste services.

Recycling Pickup Schedule

Through its contract with Blue Hen Disposal, the City of Rehoboth Beach provides weekly recycling pickup every Friday from May through September and every other Friday from October through April. To ensure that your recyclables are picked up, place your container curbside between 6 pm Thursday evening and 7 am Friday morning.

Yard Waste Pickup Schedule

Every other Wednesday of each month Please note: All yard waste must be in proper containers or bagged (in paper bags) or bundled and tied. Yard waste in plastic bags will not be picked up.

Leaf Collection Schedule

Clean, loose leaves and pine needles are picked up, beginning January 1, at the curb line on the southside on Thursdays and on the northside, including the Schoolvue area, on Fridays. Tree limbs and brush must be tied with rope or twine in arm length bundles for ease of pickup.

Annual Spring Bulk Pickup

The city's free annual bulk pickup service generally takes place the last week of April and the first week of May.

Seasonally

Christmas Tree Removal: Leave loose at the curb with no tinsel or decorations. Remove stand.
