the taming efficiency is the same (in regards to levels) but it is set to be 2x quicker in the timings of it.

2x does not effect plant. The greenhouse with full 300% on the crops allows full growth almost less than 2hrs compared to an 18 wait. You do get a better taming effectiveness on 2x as well. which results in the +3 levels. As a result to the food doing more for a tame.

2x happens on most WEs. They announce it but usually they don't announce that long before.

This is dead wrong - they tame twice as fast, thus take only half the amount of bites, thus lose less TE, thus gain more bonus levels. There's actually a thread up on this matter right now.
