While our Clean-Up Days accept mostly the same items, there can be differences between events. Check the event flyer of the event you plan to attend to confirm your items are accepted.
Packing Tips
Make your trip smoother and help the event be more efficient by packing vehicles strategically based on the event map in each event flyer. Pack vehicles so the materials most easily reachable are those to be unloaded first by referencing the flow of traffic in the map of the event you plan to attend. Event maps can be found in the flyers above.
Make a Contribution
These events are FREE! However, there is a suggested $15 donation per car to assist in disposal costs and maintain these community events. Residents may bring up to four tires for free; a $5 donation is suggested for each additional tire.
Volunteering
We rely on the help of volunteers to run a smooth event for the community! Volunteers primarily help direct traffic and unload materials from resident cars. We provide volunteers with a t-shirt, snacks, drinks, and a lunch. Click here to sign up to volunteer.

What is bulky items?
Bulky items are anything you cannot place within your garbage can or curb cart, such as carpet (must be rolled and secured for one person handling), water softeners, mattresses and box springs, furniture and large appliances. Those items containing freon must be tagged free of freon by a certified technician. All bulky items must be tagged with a “Bulky Item” sticker available for purchase for $10.00 each at Ann Arbor Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
How many gallon carts does Republic Waste have?
Residents should have a 96-gallon wheeled cart from Republic Waste to accommodate all of their refuse needs, and a second 96-gallon or 65-gallon cart for recycling. Carts are easily wheeled to the curb, wind proof, animal proof and aid in eliminating odors and lost lids. These carts are FREE.
